Thurs/Fri/Sat

Thursday's Declutter: I don't remember! But I did do a lot of grocery shopping in preparation for this candida diet I'm going to start. This is some serious stuff - it is going to take a lot of work to even get started! I think by the second week in February I should be in full swing with it - it is going to be one of my February mess goals!

Oh, I did dishes today per my goal.

Friday's Declutter: Was mental. I was feeling pretty miserable and then I had this amazing epiphany - they are starting to happen with regularity. I was boo-hooing over my unfulfilled dreams, and this idea popped into my head that they are NOT unfulfilled at all. They just haven't happened yet.

WOOF! It was awesome. I stopped crying, I felt peaceful, and I was able to milk that good thought all the way to sleep.

Saturday's Declutter: Today I began my top-to-bottom kitchen cleaning. It's another of my goals. I worked about two hours and got the cobwebs, tops and doors of the cabinets, light fixtures, top of the fridge, and the entire stove area (including inside cabinets) clean. Also changed a light bulb. Then I put the light globes back up and did the dishes. I might just get the kitchen completely clean by Monday. It's a huge job, but I might manage it!

All three days, I also did my Quicken stuff, and I'm almost done with 2010!

Results: A friend was really there for me last night when I was bumming, and today I got some positive feedback from friends who knew I was blue. I also got a call from a friend who happened to be on Facebook at the same time as me, who I'd been thinking of last night! When the phone rang I knew it was him cuz I had just commented on a post he'd just made! So nice to talk with him.

I also got my rental deposit in the mail, yay! And I got to listen to another webinar on internet marketing. I'm going to create an ebook for the class and see what happens!

Today I feel really good - got some energy back, my mood is obviously much better, and I got a ton of things done. It's movie night on PBS, and I am going to enjoy it! Bye for now!

Mon/Tues/Weds

Monday's Declutter: I can't remember if I decluttered anything on Monday. It was kind of a lazy day, though I put in my Quicken time.

Tuesday's Declutter: I recycled a box, four envelopes, a cardboard mailer, a brochure, a post-it, 3 napkins, and one piece of paper. I also changed the cat litter, and I did a bunch of filing and put all the loose papers in a box. I also did the dishes and my Quicken time. Keeping up with those goals!

Wednesday's Declutter: I recycled an envelope. And did Quicken. And I'm creating files for new bills and filing them.

Results: Had a nice time doing some work for a lady just on a one-time basis to help her sort out some issues. I made a little money and met someone I'd enjoy working for again :)

Today was also payday for work. Things have been flowing well most of this month.

Weekend and More Friday

On Friday I also recycled a box.

On Saturday I recycled 22 receipts after doing my daily 15 minutes of Quicken.

On Sunday I took out the garbage, and recycled 10 receipts after my dose of Quicken. I also did the dishes. And I did some spot cleaning on the floor - the cat had barfed a few times and after covering it with paper towels I left it there a little too long. Yes, I have slovenly tendencies. It was good to get it cleaned up.

Results: Quicken is getting caught up. It's really kind of amazing how easy it is to put in 15 minutes. It goes by very quickly. I still have some annoying catching up in there that I've been putting off, but overall I'm excited to think I could manage to do this on a regular basis.

Also, I had a lovely weekend at my friend's doing some work for her. The ride up the Hudson in the train was so stunningly beautiful and I felt so happy to be taking that trip! It was extremely cold here this weekend - single digit temps, which are rare. I wasn't out in it much but I did enjoy the sting of the cold - wakes me up!

Finally, I got a book about a diet to heal problems with candida. I'm excited to try it - the benefits could be outstanding if it works for me. Candida is so common that I almost certainly have it. My score on a questionnaire in the book indicated that I do. My health isn't bad, but I've noticed a major decline in the past year or so that has troubled me. This diet could solve that and the lack of energy I've experienced for several years. So I'm going to give it a go. It's going to take a lot of willpower cuz I'll have to give up sugar completely for at least three months, but I'm looking at it as a birthday present to myself, as I'll be hitting the three month mark right around my bday.

So that's my weekend :) I'm on a roll and loving it.

Tuesday - Friday

I don't remember what I did for Tuesday's declutter, other than another 15 minutes on Quicken.

But on both Wednesday and Thursday, I shredded 18 pieces of paper at work, for a total of 36 papers. I also took out the garbage and the paper recycling on Thursday. Lastly, I recycled an envelope. And I continued the Quicken both days, and did dishes Wednesday per my goal (every other day).

Today I did laundry! And Quicken. And the dishes are done. :)

Results: I am making money hand over fist. Had a rough start to the week but all the bills are paid and I have put the bulk of the prepaid rent into my savings account to earn interest! I've made a couple of good trades in the past couple weeks, and a couple not as good, though one of those could still turn around before I have to get out.

And today I had a biiiiiggg mental declutter. It's something one would think is obvious, but yet the majority of people live their lives without ever getting this one thing I got today. I realized the insanity of believing that something will never happen just because it hasn't happened yet! And also the belief that because things have happened a certain way in the past, they will always be that way. It is an obvious truth that the past doesn't dictate the future, that anything could happen anytime. And yet so many of us live our lives as though what has gone before DOES determine the future. This creates all kinds of negative beliefs over time. I haven't had a baby yet, and over many years I've developed a very strong belief that it won't happen. But in actuality, it's still possible.

Getting this today gave me a sense of freedom and of power to create whatever I want out of my life. It's probably not going to stick with me very long. But it's a big step toward changing my thinking. Someone once said, "If you think you can, or think you can't, you're right." THinking and belief are everything when it comes to having what you want out of life.

Monday

Today I did 25 minutes of catching up on my Quicken input, and did dishes. Two goals begun!

Thursday - Sunday

Thursday's Declutter: I recycled an old eyelash curler. The silicone strip kept falling out and finally got lost, so I finally decided I could get a better one that wouldn't be such a pain to maintain! I also paid a bill.

Friday's Declutter: I don't think I decluttered anything on Friday. I was in a lot of pain when I got home - did something to my back Thursday and it got worse Friday. I iced it when I got home and didn't do much else. That helped a lot.

Saturday's Declutter: I cleaned the catbox today. Also took two coupons to the lobby. I may have done some dishes too...

Sunday's Declutter: I cleaned up the spilled coffee (unbrewed) around the coffee pot. No need for me to be a COMPLETE sloven.

Results: I was dangerously close to having zero money, which meant no work unless I could deposit a check that day. Then I remembered that I have a debit card for my ING checking account, and can transfer money among my ING accounts instantaneously. So I did that so I can buy subway fare to get home from work today! Also moved money so I could buy some groceries for tomorrow's breakfast. I am going to have a ton of money by the end of the week, but meanwhile, WOW.

I also asked my friend for whom I'm working remotely if she could do a deposit for me tomorrow for the few hours I've put in this week, and she will! So that will tide me over till the end of the week.

The heat has been wonderful the past couple of days - approaching 75 degrees in my living room. It hasn't been this warm in here in the winter since 2003 or so. Really loving it!

Finally, today I remembered a goal-setting tool I've had for some time that I stopped using because it wasn't useful for my biggest dreams. The mess in this house makes me tired, and I suddenly thought I could use this tool to help me clean it up. The original tool is for setting goals in six different areas of one's life, so you have some balance. But there's a short form for busy months, with only three goals, and you can choose the areas you want to work on. So I filled out three mess goals to work on for the remainder of January. They are: Catching up on Quicken, cleaning up the paper clutter in the living room, and cleaning the kitchen. Already started the kitchen by doing the dishes this morning. :)

I was VERY good at reaching goals using this form, so I feel it will really help me get things cleaned up around here. I am only focusing on the "Mess" category for now. And I already know what two of next month's goals will be: Laundry and my health. And that's it for now!

Wednesday

Today I paid three bills and recycled the envelopes and inserts.

Tuesday Later

So I went out and got some SHEEPSKIN LINED boots - even the FEET are sheepskin lined, which is where I need it most - for $30! They were on sale and I had already bought some at Marshalls which were $70 and just a little too small. Went in the second store on a whim and found a brand Marshalls had, but only in huge sizes. I found my size - much more comfortable - and they are just as warm for less than half the price! Of course I immediately returned the more expensive boots.

That is my kind of shopping!

I cleaned the catbox and recycled a newspaper, and along about 4:00 in the afternoon, my phone finally got fixed after 33 days. Good thing I didn't cancel my cell phone last year or I'd have been screwed for a month.

Never did do the dishes. But I did catch up on the soap blog I love, Serial Drama :) And I got a couple of work days scheduled in for later in the month.

Results: My phone is fixed! I got a free bagel at the gym. And my feet will never be cold again!

Tuesday Surprise

Today I got up early to wait for Verizon and my landlord to get here so I can get my phone fixed. Landlord is late, but the Verizon guy gave me his cell # to call him when the landlord gets here! While waiting, I filed a pile of stuff, and recycled 10 pieces of paper/brochures, 9 postcards/cards, 5 donation requests (unopened as I can't help them now), 6 envelopes, and 9 notes/sticky notes.

I also got the day off unexpectedly. This is good because I have been working a lot without a break and need some time for myself so I don't get too crazy when I get back to it.

Next is washing the dishes, and later I'm going shopping for warm boots since another snowstorm is headed our way.

Saturday - Monday

I don't think I decluttered much over the weekend, since I was away working. I did pay a bill Sunday night and recycle the envelope and inserts. But today I took out the recycling and some garbage, paid two or three bills and recycled the envelopes, and recycled ten newspapers and a flyer.

And I got a TON of things done today: Phone calls re work, my rental, trading, debts, and getting my phone fixed; trading (exited with a 27% gain!); signing up to see my football team play the national championship; and running errands. I have been going ALL day, though it's been mostly mental energy, and I feel like I've moved mountains! I have to do actual work the rest of the week, and I'm already so tired, haha! But tomorrow I will hopefully get my phone fixed or closer to fixed, so my work might only be a half day.

Results: Holy cow, everything happened this weekend! I worked for my friend and made some money while enjoying time out of the city. My new renter moved in today with a payment for the first month, and I'll get the deposit and the next five months in a few days with the lease. My other renter also paid the rent. Then today I got out of my trade with a nice little profit! I am on track to pay off at least one debt this month, and maybe even buy a nice warm pair of winter boots this week.

I'm tired, but feel so good about the productivity of this day :) And now I get the treat of watching a really exciting football game. GO DUCKS!

Friday - Friday

Wow, what a crazy week I've had - work, work, work! I can't remember each day's declutters, but I managed to do a little bit here and there between jobs :) I have recycled three or four newspapers, done some dishes, taken out some trash, and changed the cat litter.

I DO remember today's declutter: I recycled seven expired coupons and the envelopes and inserts from four bills I paid.

Results: MONEY. I am making money hand over fist. I made just enough money over the weekend to cover the rent. It was tight for a few days after the rent got mailed, but I got a check from my dad for my tenant's (YES!) credit check yesterday, and today a check from work got deposited for me by a co-worker, and I worked at two jobs and got paid as well. So bills got paid and a deposit is being made tomorrow. I'm working again this weekend, which will mean more bills getting paid. And my current tenant's rent is on its way.

Finally, my new tenant is moving in next week - I should have the deposit soon. And I'm getting several months of rent in advance! And I have lots of work for the next few weeks so the money is going to keep flowing for awhile.

Today I got into a trade that looked good as well. I wanted to try a trending trade instead of just a one-day thing, so I'm holding this over the weekend and possibly for a couple days next week unless it goes south. It went up for awhile - I was ahead - and then it dropped a bit, and then went up again. Technically it looked like a good one to get in, and I got in at a good price, so we will see. At the close it was a few bucks ahead, which covers the commissions on the trade, so I'm breaking even right now.

It's been a good day. There has been some emotional decluttering as well, but that's a subject for another day. Goodnight!
